Cultural House Smugglarnästet on Vänö highlights culture and traditions in the outer archipelago through exhibitions, music and other events. The house is suitable for groups of 10–100 people and offers an inspiring environment for meetings, courses and celebrations close to the sea.

Only 300 metres from Vänö harbour, with guest piers for both ferry connections, private boats and taxi boats, is Smugglarnästet – a unique place for meetings, celebrations and culture in the outer archipelago of Turunmaa. Here you encounter a genuine atmosphere in the old fishing village, where the sea, tradition and community create an unforgettable setting.
Smugglarnästet is suitable for many types of occasions. In the dance hall, tables can be set for approximately 60 people, while the historic stone section, built from slag stone from the Dalsbruk ironworks 130 years ago, accommodates up to 40 people and includes a small kitchen. The combination of these spaces makes the house flexible for both larger and smaller groups.
Many choose Vänö as a place for life’s celebrations. The atmospheric Vänö Seafarers’ Chapel is located very close by and provides a unique setting for wedding ceremonies, after which Smugglarnästet becomes the natural venue for the wedding reception. Catering can be arranged locally on Vänö, making planning smooth and convenient.
The island is easily reached by ferry connection or taxi boat, or why not sail here on a chartered yacht from Kasnäs, where there is also a spa hotel for those who wish to combine the archipelago experience with relaxing comfort.
Smugglarnästet is more than a house – it is an experience where history, tradition and archipelago nature meet and add value to every gathering. In the dance hall, tables can be set for up to 60 guests. In the stone section, 30 people can be seated comfortably, with a maximum of 40 people.
Accommodation
The association’s caravan, Vänö Havshub, offers sleeping accommodation for up to three people. It is equipped with two sofa beds, a refrigerator, a hot plate, a coffee maker and kettle, a microwave oven, tableware, an outdoor toilet, and fast fibre internet.
